Doesn't deserve 3 star

I have visited this hotel once for a function. I don't think this hotel deserves a 3 star rating. There is parking facility but not a convenient one. The food were also average. I don't prefer going there again. Better look for an alternate one. If there is not other choice then one can consider this one but don't expect a service of 3 star hotel.

nice big rooms super clean, accommodates extra bed comfortably. close to the railway station. booking was over the phone. no hassle. the manager was kind enough to care to arrange a taxi. but there is no service as such for food, drinking water or coffee.we did not expect one too. we went out and had coffee on our way. we were apprehensive about neatness. we were more than happy with the room and bath.

Very poor services

The construction and the room was very good . However the services are very poor . We could not get hot water supply and had to take batch in cold water . There is no drinking water provided in the room . We had to buy the same . No facility for tea or coffee in the room and no room service till 7.30 am . While we are charged for bed and breakfast there was no break fast available when we left at 8 am . We were told that only Chappathy will be available for breakfast and that too after 9 am . Overall we are very disappointed that we paid such a high price for such a poor service . Towels in the bathroom were terrible and torn . Trip Adviser should have a system of verifying the details provided by the hotels before putting them up for its clients . I am disappointed with Clear Trip also in this respect . Would suggest you take this hotel off your list .

Though i had booked the room earlier on my date of arrival i was told all rooms were sold out hence, higher tariff was only available. Since travelling with family my options were less hence i accepted. On arriving there was a new front office guy how didn't know about my booking, went on asking questions only after stern voicing, he gave the room. Again the entire hotel smells of liquor and smoke with family this is a difficult spot. There was no room service, coffee, dinner, breakfast not even the slightest courtesy. The next morning i found out i am the only occupant, checked out immediately. The room was luckily maintained well, nothing else here. Not worth for their service or standards. check in : 28/09/2014 20.30hrs check out : 29/09/2014 08.37hrs

Chegannur is not a touristy place and the only reason we were here is because we were to go see the Aranmula Boat Race the next morning. There aren't too many options here thus,so we picked this place because it had 24 hr checkout. We reached at around 11 in the night.Despite repeatedly asking for help, nobody came to help us with our bags from the taxi to the hotel (what sort of a 3 star does this??).What was even worse was the fact that there some 4 men in the lobby, including the security guard and everyone was totally drunk, the security guard couldn't even walk straight! He tripped over our bags and was reeking of cheap booze. The manager actually tried to send this creep in the lift with us alone (we were two girls traveling alone).I got angry and made it clear I didn't want any of those drunk men to come with us (the rest were busy leching at us,enjoying the spectacle of two girls and one drunk security guard). We went up to the room, the entire corridor smelled of booze and cigarette smoke. The restuarant was closed even though they claim to have a 24 Hr coffee shop (again what 3 star does this?).I could hear raucous, drunk laughter and was nervous so to be safe,I called the cops and told them where I was, what had happened and to be prepared in case I called if I felt threatened. This was good, the cops immediately called the hotel and grilled them on their drunk staff.Soon After, the manager called me,asking if the room was alright and to myliking,if the AC and TV and all worked. They were also very courteous the next morning. I would NEVER recommend this place to women travelers, stay here if you are traveling with a guy. Also, general advice to citizens,be aware and always remember that there exist agencies to help and protect us.
